Antioxidants in honey
In one study, researchers studied the blood of 25 men between 18 and 68 years for five weeks. It turned out that four teaspoons of honey mixed with water increased the levels of antioxidants in the blood.
Antioxidants are believed to prevent serious diseases such as cardiovascular disease and cancer. The amount of antioxidants in honey is not very high and should be seen as a complement to a diet rich in antioxidants from a variety of foods.
